Physiotherapy

“Ali has resolved a reoccurring back issue I had for years, but more importantly he has changed my mindset towards injury and rehabilitation. His approach to physio is ‘no nonsense’ and will challenge your preconceptions of what your injury may be and put your mind at rest, giving you a plan to being fully fit. I’d highly recommend Ali as a physiotherapist”.

TESTIMONIALS

I’ve been seeing Ali Inglis for a few physio issues over the last couples of years and can’t say enough good things about his approach. He’s the first person I recommend to my athletes whether amateur, professional or enthusiasts. Ali’s method quickly assesses the problem then gets straight to work to rectify it.

I booked in to see Alistair regarding a recurring knee pain issue I had when strength training and standing for long periods. After taking me through a thorough history and examination, he found my knee was being overloaded by a specific weakness and developed a comprehensive rehab plan, with very helpful diagrams and instructions. Alistair also gave advice on how to reduce pain on a day-to-day basis whilst building my strength up. After consistently using my rehab program provided by Alistair, my knee pain is now completely gone. I have also seen Alistair for advice on other injuries and he has helped me immensely in reducing pain and strengthening any weak points. He has a very deep knowledge of all things rehab, and provides very useful and detailed answers to my questions. I would highly recommend Alistair, he provides a fantastic service and produces solid results. I will definitely be using his services again if needed in the future!

I recently made an appointment with Ali as I was suffering from back pain during pregnancy. Back pain is something I have had on and off since I was much younger and had attended an Osteopath regularly for much of my adult life. This time I decided to try a different route as the previous fixes were always short term (6 weeks) and never sustainable.

Ali was quickly able to bust the myths I believed were the route of my back pain and give me honest feedback on what my issues were and how to address them. The solutions he proposed were all things I have been able to carry forward into my later stages of pregnancy and more importantly, the impact has lasted longer than 6 weeks! He turned around my plan quickly and gave practical advise on how to self manage my issues going forward. I would recommend a visit for lasting solutions!

I was recommended to see Alistair by other lifters following a shoulder injury. During the initial session, Alistair was through thorough diagnosis able to identify the structural weaknesses in my shoulder that led to my injury.

Since then, Alistair has given me a customized rehab program to strengthen my shoulders and also provided me with invaluable ongoing help with my training. Because of his attention to detail, his friendly manner and unparalleled expertise, I can not recommend Alistair highly enough.

Ali was recommended to me by a very good friend/coach who informed me there was no other person in the country he would go to for rehabilitation other than Ali, I now also stand by this statement. being a coach and gym owner i recommend everyone who walks through the door to him. Once my clients have seen Ali I am sent a full breakdown of their assessment and full rehabilitation programming to follow. This man is at the top of his field and there is really no need to see anyone else, thanks again mate!

I can not recommend Alistair highly enough. I have used him as a physio personally for more than 3 years now. I also exclusively recommend Alistair to any of my clients or gym members who have any injuries or niggles. The reason for this is not only that I have never sent anyone to Alistair who hasn't found a solution to their problem, but also because of his honesty and integrity.

Too many times in the past I've heard stories, or fell victim myself of physios taking your money and booking you in for 5 or 6 sessions and never really fixing the problem only giving short term pain relief. Alistair will usually find the problem and then write you up a programme and a plan to fix the problem. 99% of the time you won't need to see him again provided you do what he asks you to do. I also used Alistair when I broke my leg in January, I was back training within less than 3 months, and am now 6 weeks out from competing at Scotland's Strongest Man, which will be 6 months exactly since having a metal plate put in my broken leg. I would nit have been able to do this without Alistair's expertise and dedication. I trust Alistair 100% with both my own, and my clients and members health, training and injuries, and I'll likely never use another physio again!

I’ve been to Alistair for two different injuries, and the service I’ve received has been fantastic. He listened, alleviated the concerns I had and was clear in his explanation of my injuries. He understood my training demands as a powerlifter and a cyclist and he worked to adapt my existing training to ensure I could continue to progress whilst working around the injuries. I’ve seen great progress with his guidance, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services.

I used to be very active - enjoying hillwalking, dancing, and going to the gym to do cardio and weights.
However, In Oct 2019 I was diagnosed with MS after a year of confusing symptoms.
Although I continued with yoga and Pilates, as recommended by the NHS, a year later I was struggling to walk to the corner shop and back before fatiguing. At this point I started investigating my fitness options beyond what the NHS suggested.
Thankfully, I met Alistair Inglis for a session following a recommendation. Using his extensive physio and strength & condition training knowledge, he produced a bespoke programme for me, including work with resistance bands, light weights, and kettlebell squats. This was pretty much everything I had ceased to do following my diagnosis.
The initial day of the programme was extremely difficult, but I continued with it 3 times a week, having good days and bad days, I persevered! It started to feel easier as the weeks progressed, so we increased the resistance/weight to keep it feeling as taxing as the initial day (but those are the rules – when it gets easier, you up the difficulty).
Having continued with the programme I am now stronger, my range of movement has improved, more stable and the length of time I can walk before my fatigue starts to kick in has increased.
We keep tweaking things every 2-3 months as we review where I am and how I progress. I know I’ll never run a marathon (not that I ever wanted to) but Alistair has helped me get a little bit of the pre-MS Jen back! Coming to terms with my disability and how it impacts my stamina has been difficult and I continue with my programme as I can see the benefits.
Many thanks Alistair!
